Rodin: The Kiss

My glass art is created via the Tiffany copper foil method. First the design or pattern is copied onto paper; labelled with numbers and colors; and with a lightboard, covered with the cut glass pieces. Then I cut, grind, and clean the cut glass pieces before applying copper foil to each individual piece of glass. Next, lead solder is applied to the copper foil on the glass creating the resulting design, and hanging chains are attached to the stained glass panel. Lastly the panel is cleaned and polished to a sparkle.

For an additional fee, glass panels can be mounted in wooden frames. My panels are shipped in acid free paper tissue, bubble wrap, and sturdy boxes. All my pieces are individually signed and dated with with a small discreet etching to the bottom of the glass piece.

As a guide, the cost for stained glass panels is calculated on the basis of their size, and the price range quoted will take into account the complexity of the design and the types of glass used to construct the panel. As peoples needs are very diverse, the budget in turn can help determine which design styles are possible.

Commissioning a stained glass panel allows you to acquire a unique piece of art which is an expression of your ideas, and will be designed to suit the location that you

"I recently commissioned a stained glass panel from Lawrence. I particularly wanted an iris motif as I am very fond of Van Gogh's work! I am very pleased with the finished result, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is most impressive. Mr.Scott is a talented artist."

"...having initially discussed my ideas for a Art Deco stained glass design using a cabochon stone as a central feature, the resulting piece is exactly as i wanted it and hangs in my conservatory. He even went out of his way to purchase the stone for me, and what a beautiful stone it is too. Wonderful!"

"I was delighted with the interpretation of my Henry Moore picture. I was kept informed throughout the design process. Moreover, thank you for being so patient with me! Sunlight shining through it brings a new dimension to this image making it come alive. Thank you Lawrence for this artistic creation.
